Rate of Pay: $17.40 per hour

The position’s primary duties are assisting in non-technical aspects of crop care to ensure cultural timelines are met and maintaining the nursery’s cultural infrastructure.

• Preparation and sterilizing of growing containers, loading and unloading a semiautomatic washing line, palletizing, and preparing for storage.
• Preparation of growing media and growing media mixes (coco, styroprill, and peat moss).
• Preparation of growing facilities to receive crops (benching, irrigation, greenhouses, open compounds).
• Participate in all aspects of the sowing operation, loading and unloading a semiautomatic sow line, and filling growing facilities.
• Participate in weeding, thinning, roguing, spacing and relocation of crops throughout the year.
• Assist in the collection of cultural data.
• Participate in all aspects of the harvest operation including sorting, bundling, wrapping, boxing, preparing harvest materials, palletizing and loading trucks.
• Assist in maintaining clean growing and production facilities to ensure crop health and safe nursery operation.
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of cultural infrastructure (benching, irrigation, and growing facilities).
